Press and hold the Home button, then choose Apps.
Roughly five minutes from a fresh Firestick to live TV. Works on every model: Lite, 2nd gen, 3rd gen, 4K, 4K Max and the Fire TV Cube.
Amazon doesn't carry generic IPTV apps in its store, so this is a sideload through Downloader — Amazon's own, fully legitimate app. Nothing here roots or modifies your device.
From the Fire TV home screen go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options, then turn on Install unknown apps (older models call it Apps from Unknown Sources). If Developer Options isn't visible, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and click Fire TV Stick seven times to unlock it.
Search the Amazon Appstore for Downloader — the orange icon by AFTVnews — and install it. When you open it the first time, allow it access to storage.
Open Downloader, select the URL field and type the numeric code from your welcome email, then press Go. The APK downloads in under a minute on a normal connection.
When the download finishes, press Install, then Done, then Delete twice to remove the APK file. The app itself stays — you're only freeing up the space the installer used.
Open Apollo from your app list and enter the username and password from your welcome email. Leave the server field exactly as it comes pre-filled.
The EPG populates in the background over 5–10 minutes. Channels play straight away in the meantime — you just have to know what you want by name until the guide fills in.
Press and hold the Home button, then choose Apps.
Scroll to the bottom of the grid — sideloaded apps always land last.
Press the Menu button (three lines), choose Move, then drag it to the top row.
Almost always a partial download. Delete the APK, clear Downloader's cache (Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Downloader → Clear cache) and re-enter the code. If it repeats, your Firestick may be out of storage — remove an unused app and try again.
Older Firestick Lite and 2nd-gen models occasionally need a reboot after a sideload. Unplug the stick from power for 10 seconds, plug it back in and open the app again.
Check your actual speed at the stick, not at your router — Firesticks have weak Wi-Fi antennas. Under 15 Mbps at the device, 4K will stall. Moving the stick onto an HDMI extender (one comes in the box) often gains several Mbps on its own.
Back out of the channel and re-enter it — that forces the player onto a backup source immediately rather than waiting for the automatic failover. If a specific channel keeps failing, tell support the exact channel name so it can be requeued.
A codec mismatch on older hardware. In player settings, switch the decoder from Hardware to Hardware+ or Software. Software decoding uses more CPU but plays everything.
Subscribe and your Firestick code, username and password land in your inbox within 60 seconds. Support will do the install with you over chat if you'd rather not do it alone.
